Coffee & Bark at the 2026 Hazel Park Art Fair

One of our favorite parts of opening Coffee & Bark in Hazel Park has been getting to know the community around us, and this past weekend gave us another opportunity to do just that.

On August 22 and 23, we joined artists, makers, local businesses, performers and neighbors at the 2026 Hazel Park Art Fair at Green Acres Park. The free, all-ages event brought the community together for a weekend of art, food, live performances and more.  

For us, being there was about more than setting up a Coffee & Bark booth. It was another chance to get out into the community, meet more of our Hazel Park neighbors and be part of an event that brings so many people together each year.

A Weekend of Art and Community in Hazel Park

Organized by the nonprofit Hazel Park Arts Council, the Hazel Park Art Fair creates an opportunity for both new and experienced artists to share their work while bringing a diverse selection of art to the community.  

It’s exactly the kind of local event we’re excited to be part of as Coffee & Bark continues putting down roots in Hazel Park.

Since opening our Hazel Park location, we’ve loved getting to know more of the people, organizations and businesses that make up this community. Events like the Hazel Park Art Fair give us the opportunity to step outside of the coffee shop and connect with people in a completely different setting.

Taking Coffee & Bark Beyond the Coffee Shop

Of course, we couldn’t show up without bringing a little Coffee & Bark along with us.

Throughout the weekend, we served a selection of drinks and treats from the shop, including oatmilk lattes, our Blueberry Lotus, strawberry lemonade, Allergy Free Bakery cookies and scones, and even doggy donuts for the pups.

But one of the best parts of the weekend was simply getting to connect with people. We had the chance to introduce Coffee & Bark to neighbors who hadn’t visited us yet, catch up with familiar faces and meet plenty of pups along the way.

Those conversations are one of our favorite parts of participating in local events. Some people already know us from stopping into the shop, while others discover Coffee & Bark for the first time at an event like this.

Either way, getting to connect face-to-face with more of our neighbors is something we value.

Supporting the Community We’re Part Of

Opening a local business isn’t just about finding a building and opening the doors. For us, it’s also about becoming part of the place around it.

We want Coffee & Bark Hazel Park to be more than somewhere you stop for coffee. We want to support local events, build relationships with our neighbors and other businesses, and continue finding meaningful ways to participate in the community as we grow here.

The Hazel Park Art Fair was another opportunity to do exactly that.

We’re still relatively new to Hazel Park, and every event, conversation and familiar face makes this community feel a little more like home.

We’re grateful to be here, and we’re looking forward to continuing to show up, get involved and grow alongside Hazel Park.
