Coffee & Bark Berkley Anniversary: Celebrating 3 Years of Community

In June 2026, Coffee & Bark Berkley celebrated a milestone that means a lot to us: three years in Berkley, Michigan.

When we first opened our doors, we hoped to create more than a place to grab a cup of coffee. We wanted Coffee & Bark to feel welcoming, comfortable, and connected to the community around us. A place to meet a friend, get some work done, spend time with your dog, discover something new, or simply settle in with a favorite drink.

Three years later, that vision has grown into something we’re incredibly grateful for.

Three Years of Coffee, Dogs and Community

Coffee has always been at the heart of what we do, but Coffee & Bark has become about so much more than what’s in the cup.

Over the past three years, we’ve watched our Berkley coffee shop become part of people’s routines. We’ve seen familiar faces turn into regulars, dogs learn exactly where they’re going when they walk through the BarkEasy entrance, friends meet over coffee, people work and study from our tables, and families spend time together in a space designed to feel comfortable and welcoming.

We’ve also had the opportunity to host celebrations, meetings, community gatherings, local collaborations and plenty of everyday moments that may seem small but have become some of our favorite parts of owning a neighborhood coffee shop.

Those connections are what make Coffee & Bark feel like Coffee & Bark.

A Dog-Friendly Coffee Shop With a Space of Its Own

One of the ideas that helped shape Coffee & Bark from the beginning was creating a coffee shop where people could genuinely spend time indoors with their dogs.

Our BarkEasy gives guests a dedicated indoor dog-friendly area separate from our food and beverage preparation spaces. It has become one of the things people know us for and one of our favorite parts of watching the Coffee & Bark community grow.

Some guests discover us because they’re searching for a dog-friendly coffee shop in Berkley. Others come for the coffee first and eventually bring their pup along.

Either way, we love seeing both people and dogs become regulars.

Growing Alongside Berkley

Being part of Berkley has shaped Coffee & Bark in ways we couldn’t have fully imagined when we opened.

This community has supported us through new menu launches, seasonal drinks, events, collaborations, busy mornings, challenges, celebrations and plenty of learning along the way.

You’ve recommended us to friends and neighbors, brought family members in when they visit, tagged us in photos, shared our posts, left reviews, introduced us to your dogs and continued choosing a small, family-owned business for your morning coffee.

That support has allowed us to keep growing.

As Coffee & Bark Berkley approached its third anniversary, we were able to take the next big step in our story and open a second Coffee & Bark location in Hazel Park.

Seeing Coffee & Bark grow beyond its original location has been incredibly exciting, but Berkley will always be where this story began.

Coffee & Bark Has Grown, Too

A lot can change in three years.

Our menu has grown. Our spaces have evolved. We’ve introduced new seasonal drinks, expanded our food and pastry offerings, created more ways to gather and work, added catering options, hosted events and continued learning what our customers want from their neighborhood coffee shop.

But the things that mattered to us when we opened still matter today.

We want to serve great drinks. We want people to feel welcome when they walk through the door. We want to support the communities we’re part of. And we want Coffee & Bark to remain a place where connection can happen, whether that connection is between friends, coworkers, neighbors or someone and their dog.

Three years may be a business milestone, but reaching it was never something we did alone.
